MICHELLE will be online by the end of the week. only small details left to be fixed, next project is already in motion.
tony has his hands on some cutting edge technology, i start helping him this saturday.
rob's new project steps back to 8mm film, test footage is very gritty and abstract. i'll be helping him with that soon.
if i'm not shooting my own flick i'm working with someone else. if anyone needs help or has something they want me to shoot don't be shy to ask, what reason do i have to say no? if you ever want to help out or collaborate let me know as well.

the president appeared to have more confidence and control than he's had in the past. not bad for one of the most hated men in america. john mccain however displayed no signs of self respect as he was slumped in his chair and napping for a hideous 10 seconds. bush announcing that the federal government will encourage the use of ethanol had sen. chuck grassley of iowa looking like he just lost his virginity. last night felt like a high school reunion with powerful classmates who had to fake a smile.

it's odd to think we are in times where music is filled with so much angst and sorrow...could this be our lifestyles juxtaposed against our parents? you look at their reigning times during the 60s/70s when there was a much more positive uplifting theme behind music, people were working towards a more peaceful life and it was about how beautiful love really is.
our parents started having kids, started feeling overwhelmed, and became bitter towards the drugs they wish they could be doing (but can't now that they are raising their children). this attitude of course reflects on their kids. as there are no major wars or depressions taking place, kids can only see their parents "amazing" past and their now sheltered future. suddenly there is this anger, this angst, this darker side of humanity that gets expressed in it's art. suddenly you have armies of kids in the 80s who are not interested in listening to feel good music or experimenting with drugs for spiritual purposes. from there we headed straight into the 90s where a lot of problems were getting sexually abused, having mommy and daddy not treat you right, being fucked up from previous relationships, etc. the music not only became more dark and grim, but it became excepted in the mainstream. people were ready to embrace the message and the feeling that others had pint up for so long. as we move into this decade we look back and see how silly the last 10 years were. so the attitude becomes instead more sarcastic, bitter, angsty, and independent...this is not to say we have experienced a good change.

have times changed?
i think people are way too overwhelmed these days...
i think people have become more and more lazy...
i think people have become increasingly bitter...

now i'm not trying to say its wrong if you're guilty of this, but when you start projecting it in your every day interactions with people than somethings wrong. it's wrong because being overwhelmed makes you flustered and forgetful, laziness and forgetfulness will also go hand in hand, the bitterness is just a crappy attitude that reflects being spoiled. am i guilty of all 3? maybe to an extent, though i feel like i try not to. if i catch myself doing these i'll often make an attempt to create some sort of change...so what's the point to all this? straightening out jumbled ideas in my head. hope you had a good read.

so tonight turned into Rob, Keith, Phil, and myself heading out to house of blues to catch Dragonforce as they were playing an off date tonight from Ozzfest.
after the first few songs are finished I tell Phil to follow me, we're heading to the floor. on the floor we're surrounded by fans throwing their horns, chanting lyrics, and committing to endless headbanging. I was ready to follow up on this. one of the best fucking parts of the show was when Vadim (keyboard and 'keytar' player) treated us with a five minute solo. very awesome. I wasn't a big fan of the ballad played, but it gave me an excuse to pull out my lighter :D. after an hour of metal and sweat I ran into Griff, Eric, and Mark outside (hey guys). they were looking for Palmer who ran up and hugged me on the floor about 10 minutes earlier. once I found Keith and Rob (Phil had to leave 2 songs before they ended, I think he had to pick somebody up) we headed back to Robs place.
we get to Robs and he puts on eraserhead. I've never watched the film in its entirety, and the portions I saw were so long ago that i couldnt remember almost any of it. what a creepy atmosphere that movie has. David Lynch makes some pretty bizarre flicks and this was nothing short of that. very well shot though its so disturbing that I'm not sure if I'd like to watch it again.
what I enjoyed about tonight was the fact that I wasnt even sure if we were really going to catch the show (after all, it was almost sold out). we gave Dragonforce a great time, everyone was so into them and you could tell they were pretty surprised by that. this is not the last time orlando will see them, now that they know what awesome fans they have they'll be back soon.

so i hear a remake for t2 is in the works...

so i have some commentary to offer on four new trailers...if youve already seen them or dont care about my opinion, oh well. guess whos journal this is

numero uno the first trailer i bring up is the fast and the furious tokyo drift. featuring none of the original cast from the previous two films, this is sure to be a winner (loll). were now switching the theme from street racing to drifting (apparently popular in japan). while its almost a perfect vehicle for another fast and furious sequel, i believe that carrying none of the original cast members will put a hurt on the box office receipt. thats not to say the studios wont make all their money back and more, i'm just saying this may be the stamp of approval that the series has worn out entirely. it may be direct to dvd after this one folks.

numero dos possibly the last movie people will flock to the theaters to see starring tom cruise. everyone is worn out with tom, he really put a hurt on himself last year after war of the worlds was released (no need to remind everyone). this movie however has a few things going for it. philip seymour hoffman playing the villain (yeesssshhhhh!!), action sequences that look well crafted and not too over the top (as a genuine action geek i'm sick of transporter 2's and stealth's..we need something quality), and it looks better than the last mission impossible (sorry woo). i will probably catch this popcorn flick opening weekend, and i expect to have a fun time.

numero tres let me start off by saying how sick i am of remakes, really. when i reached the end of this trailer though i felt like it had a lot of what a summer movie should have to offer! good visual effects, fun actors (SNAKE PLISSKEN BABY!!!), and an all around good production. does anyone remember the days of id4, jurassic park, the rock, con air, face/off; when summer films were good??? maybe this year will be the return of quality popcorn flicks...or not. keep your fingers crossed.

numero quatro when i first heard about this film i thought "a 9/11 movie already? dammit!". again, by the end of the trailer my perspective had changed completely and i was somewhat impressed. a smart move on greengrass to not get any big name actors, we sure as hell dont need another pearl harbor. we can only hope that this wont spawn off too many 9/11 films.

- project Last Of The Living was postponed to do the decision to change it from a 30-45 minute movie into a feature. this involved revision of the script, further location scouting, and expanding our crew. everyone is still on board and were very excited, more on this matter soon.
- i have recovered my old dream log and have begun updating it again. i almost mastered lucid dreaming at one point but my mind became restless after several weeks. due to what was occurring in my life (at the time) it became mentally exhausting. even after terminating this experiment i began to have more lucid dreams from then on out, and would continue to return to the same place for what may have been a month. it was similar to the area i live in with slight geographic misplacements. people i would run into in this construct would appear not long after in person. what im getting at is how this has tugged at my interest once again.
- tuesdays through thursdays have become school days. two classes, including beginning algebra (which i will finish this time) and motion picture production make up the schedule which i feel will be an easy adjustment. thurdsays include both school and my job.

hello all, how is everybody? ive been really busy with work, school, visiting my grandmother, and our newest project. we are much further into pre-production and should be shooting through the winter. our producer printed up a number of fliers which you can check out .
. i cant wait for everyone to see how much effort we've been putting into this, i think you guys are going to like it.

the dvds for Litterbugs are ready. only 4 of us have copies so if you want yours (or are just curious for a viewing) ask rob or i and we'll get on it. i just want to say thanks to everyone who helped bring this together and make it possible. thanks a fucking lot. our second project is getting ready to go (a script has been finished for quite some time). right now we have been in the process of casting actors, seeking locations, storyboarding, finding/raising money, and acquiring props/costumes. this is going to be on a far wider scale than Litterbugs and will cost us a hefty amount, so if you have ANY interest in wanting to get involved please LET US KNOW! in the meantime check out the first film from rob lutz and peter parsley

While many were quick to complain, others like myself who are fans of Romero and that genre (which he didn't create btw) enjoyed the brutal, bloody as hell, intestines ripped out zombie flick quite a bit. Yes I'm talking Land Of The Dead if you haven't caught on yet. It's been over a decade since Romero returned to the director's chair (Bruiser doesn't count, no one saw it anyways). Spending so much time away, one might wonder if ol' George had it in him to make another fun, gory, dead walking fest. I think this movie provides the answer to anyone who might question that. The film opens up on the classic black and white Universal logo giving an instant vibe of the first Dead (and older Universal horror movies). We are then hit with the opening credits which take us through an eery time lapse of the zombie outbreak to where our movie takes place. The world is overrun with zombies and the remaining survivors are left in a city guarded from the "stenches". There is a lower class (where miss Asia Argento fits in nicely...Oh Asia, you're the only girl for me. You can fight zombies, kick ass, and still be a cool chick thats down for a good um...well yeah hehe. Point is she's a pretty damn good heroine for this movie).

Then there's the upper class that appears to enjoy living in a skyscraper known as Fiddler's Green. This place is owned by Dennis Hopper's character, Kaufman. Our "heroes" are pretty much willing to do whatever it takes to land themselves in a better situation than the one they're each in (which leads to why John Leguizamo's character gets very pissed at Kaufman). But hey, riding around in a truck which acts like a tank, mowing down "walkers" all night, staring at Asia Argento, that cant be too bad?! Well I guess it is if you're surrounded by zombies that are getting the slightest bit smarter each day.
I have GOT to get me one of these:

The main zombie who begins to pick up on human traits a bit faster is named Big Daddy, and boy is he pissed off. Apparently some wise asses thought it'd be a good idea to severe his buddie's head...whoops. Well now he's real angry and has a whole army of dead soldiers to take down the city with him. This obviously, is where all hell breaks loose. The gore in these scenes are spectacular (oh who am I kidding, they're amazing throughout the course of the film) and the cameo from Tom Savini got a rise out of us.
So am I telling everyone this is the best zombie movie ever made? Not really, but its damn good. The flaws are so minor that it shouldn't really bother anyone that's hyped to see this. The idea the film kept an R-rating should please the fans alone, this is one hell of a fucking gore fest (I honestly wouldn't say that unless I meant it). So with all that said, kudos George A. Romero. You are still in my awesome book.

a customer i had always thought was a really good person (named peter) ran into my mother while she was in the store (she hadn't seen him in awhile.) my mother explained to peter that my uncle gregg was in a coma. peter said that his father had been too and told us that he said to him "dad, i'm going to ask you a series of questions. i want you to squeeze my hand if the answer is yes." he ended up giving all the correct responses (the ability for his father to slightly move his hand is shocking enough for me). my mom said she would tell her mother of this story (who is in the hospital with my uncle). at approximately 9:00 pm my grandma called my mother telling her she tried the same procedure, after only several questions my uncle opened his eyes and sat up. gregg said he was hungry and that he'd like to sit in a chair...

last night someone i cared about and looked up to committed suicide. when i heard the late breaking news late last night (i was already sick and having a rough day) i broke down and started to cry. it was the straw that broke the camel's back. i don't know why someone like himself would do such a thing, hopefully more details will leak to the surface. you will be sorely missed.

for the past month its been a slew of "*sigh* i have no valentine my <3 is broken" posts and i must pose the question, why is valentines day so crucial? for the past week ive had co-workers and friends ask "so what are you doing for valentines day?". well i will be working until 10, after that i dont know and i dont really care for that matter. at this point in time i think no male my age should have the desire for the gf unless they've only been in a relationship or two, otherwise you've learned everything you need to know on that subject for now. maybe i'll give a shit what happens on vday three of four years from now when everyone grows up a little and can grasp the concept of having a relationship. until then i have no desire.
oh and if anyone is going to say "well youre not gonna get ne lol", you dont need a relationship to find that. theres no real angst i hold against this corporate biggest-sales-week-for-condoms holiday i just think its a bit phoney. happy valentines day!
